Rafting ExpeditionUgandaTime to visit: August - March - Discover Uganda, “ the pearl of Africa”. Take part in an adventure with unexpected surprises on White Nile. The journey takes you through challenging grade 5 white water, lakes and papyrus swamps. There is a good chance to spot crocodiles and other wild animals. In March 2010 Nalubale Raftings Head Guide, Reuben Connolly, successfully lead the first ever commercial rafting expedition on the White Nile, from the Owen Falls Dam in Jinja to Karuma Falls on the edge of Murchison Falls National Park - a distance of more than 300 kilometers. For seven days the expedition team paddled and rowed its way through challenging grade 5 white water, across the immense Lake Kyoga and through vast papyrus swamps. In November 2010 we’ll do another run. Once again, Reuben Connolly and his team will lead a group of people on this expedition. A maximum of six seats are available on a first come – first serve basis. Although we have prepared an itinerary and have a good idea about where to camp, it is very likely that we’ll fall behind schedule. If this happens, then we may have to row both day and night. Regardless, the plan is that we do a full night of rowing across Lake Kyoga under a full moon. That in itself is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience. At the end of the trip, we’ll have a party at the scenic Karuma Falls. The next day, the team members will return to Jinja by car. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a real African adventure. We’ll travel through areas that are rarely, if at all, visited by foreigners. We’ll be at the mercy of the elements. We’ll see Uganda in a way and from an angle that few visitors have ever experienced. We’ll see the ‘real’ Uganda!
